Lightning Detector Status Screen (See below for full details):
This applet display
updates every 60 seconds.
At the top of the display are three
main controls that you can use. These controls are
explained below:
History
Allows you to view the past 30 or 60 minutes of lightning activity within the sensor range.
View Range
Full
- Displays all lightning activity within a 375
mile range of Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex, UK.
Zoom - Displays
all lightning activity within a 180 mile range of Burnham-on-Crouch,
Essex, UK.
Event Loop
Run
- starts a replay of all lightning strikes that occurred
within the timeframe specified by the History
setting.
Stop -
stops the replay and returns the display to the current time.
Note: If
there has been no lightning activity within the timeframe selected under
History,
the
Run button
will not work.
Terms used in the applet display (Key):
Strikes Totalrelates to the number of lightning strikes recorded within the chosen time period.
+CG: Positive cloud to ground strike -CG: Negative cloud to ground strike
+IC: Positive in cloud or intra-cloud strike-IC: Negative in cloud or intra-cloud strike
